Refractory Laborer(s)
Location: Lowell, IN

Alltherm LLC is seeking hardworking, dependable individuals to join our team as Refractory Laborers. No refractory experience is required for entry-level candidates. We are willing to train motivated individuals who are eager to learn a skilled trade.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist with the demolition and installation of refractory materials.
- Mix, place, ram, cast, and repair refractory products.
- Operate hand and power tools safely.
- Load and unload materials and equipment.
- Perform general labor duties at industrial and construction job sites.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety procedures and customer site requirements.
- Travel to customer locations as needed. Travel is typically 30% but may be higher during peak times.
Qualifications
- Ability to perform physically demanding work.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout a shift.
- Ability to wear a respirator.
- Comfortable working in industrial environments.
- Willingness to work overtime and occasional weekends when required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Reliable transportation and strong attendance.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and pre-employment and random drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Construction, industrial, manufacturing, or refractory experience.
- Forklift, aerial lift, or confined space experience.
- OSHA training and safety certifications are a plus.
Schedule & Travel
- Full-time position; typical work hours are 7:00am – 3:30pm, but shifts may start early and vary by job site.
- Overtime and occasional weekend work required during peak periods.
- Travel averages approximately 30% and may include overnight or multi-day stays at customer locations.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Prolonged standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and climbing throughout the shift.
- Exposure to high temperatures, dust, fumes, noise, and varying weather conditions.
- Work at heights and in confined spaces, including furnaces, and other industrial vessels.
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed boots, and respiratory protection.
Reporting
Reports to the Plant Manager.
